21 Ways To Show Your clients That You Care

Posted by on September 10, 2009 at 2:49 am

I just had one of my coaching clients ask me what I did to set myself apart in my boot camps...picture-19

What was the "it" factor that took my fitness business to the next level?

So I sent an email blast out to all my old boot camp clients and put the question to them.

I have to admit, it put a big smile on my face to hear all the cool things they had to say

... And the little things I did that made such a BIG difference.

So I made a list of 21 things I've done to let clients know that I care

1. NEVER take your clients for granted... Being a Fitness Professional is the best business in the world... And I never forgot that.

2. Shower your clients with genuine appreciation. They are not a PASSIONATE about fitness as you, and have to overcome many obstacles to make it to their training appointment.  So pour on the appreciation. (But make sure it's real)

3. Keep your problems out of the gym... When your clients come to see you, it's all about them.

iwilltakecareofyouwhenyougrowold14. Text your clients after every workout... Tell them how great they did, how proud you are of them, and how much you look forward to seeing them next workout.

5. Give every single one of your clients a "pump up" call every Sunday night. Tell them why THIS week is gonna be the best ever and that you can't wait to see them!  Never miss that call)

6. Send your clients a Birthday card and a birthday call or text.  It only takes a few seconds.  There are even companies that hand write and mail them for you.

7. Call or text your clients when they don't show up... This is HUGE.

8. Give them random "appreciation" gifts.  I used to go to Costco and by 100 movie tickets at a bulk discount... When a client had a great workout, I would say, "you had a break through today.  I'm so proud of you.  Go to the movies on me... you earned it."

9. Notice the "little victories".  When your client pushes through a sticking point, or almost gives up but doesn't, give them praise.

10. Thank your clients after every workout... EVERY TIME... Really thank them...

11. Send a video email.  One of my coaching clients, Troy Blankenship, did an AWESOME guest post about how to go the extra mile care-logowith your clients. In this post he talked about sending an email with a link to a youtube video with you thanking them for coming in and signing up... It's such a cool thing to do...  Talk about first impressions!

12. When your clients say they have something coming up like a big meeting they are stressed about or a vacation, take notes and when you're done training, put it on your calendar...  When you call or text your client the day of the BIG MEETING and say, "Hey Jane, your gonna kick butt at your meeting today :)" It REALLY let's them know you CARE.

The Simple Secret To Being Whatever You Want

Posted by on September 6, 2009 at 3:34 am

Heeeey Steve here...picture-32

... And I'm about to tell you the SIMPLE SECRET to being whatever you want - and why you have already PROVEN this to yourself.

I'm also gonna ask you to leave a comment with what music you workout to that totally PUMPS YOU UP and turns you into a training machine... (I'll explain why I'm asking in a minute)

But first, let me tell you a little story/confession.

For 9 years I got up Monday through Saturday and trained clients.

I had a set routing and was in the best shape of my life.

Train myself with weights from 5am to 6am.
Train clients from 6am-10am.
Do my cardio at 10am.
I brought my food for the day in a cooler.

I was super lean, fit and felt friggin great.

Then, I discovered how to get clients on the internet and systematize my business so that I only had to show up to my personal training center once a week (if that)

On top of that, I created (with the help of my BFF and business partner Bedros Keuilian) a system to not only EXPLODE your boot camps, but have them run on autopilot by other trainers...

2The good news was that my fitness business was so systematized that I rarely needed to leave my house.

But the bad news was that my own fitness "routine" was shot to hell.

I kept saying I'll workout tomorrow...

That tuned into next week...

And that turned into next month.
I started to think and act like an overweight, out of shape person.

And That's exactly what I turned into.

Why It’s cool to think BIG Like Starbucks

Posted by on September 1, 2009 at 1:12 am

picture-201Ya know how Starbucks is EVERYWHERE and EVERYONE knows about it?

Well it all started with a thought... An idea... A dream

Here is the Startbucks original mission statement:

"To establish Starbucks as the premier purveyor of the finest coffees in the world while maintaining our uncompromising principles as we grow."

The keyword here is GROW.

And the dude who founded Starbucks, Howard Schultz,  knew all about that.

FILES-JAPAN-US-STARBUCKS-FORBES-SCHULTZHere is a quote about what makes him tic:

"I wanted to be in charge of my own destiny," says Howard Schultz. "It may be a weakness in me: I'm always wondering what I'll do next. Enough is never enough."

Now that's a dude that who was thinking BIG.

But why can't this be you... WHY?

dogPainting a clear picture in your mind of your ideal client may seem like a no-brainer, but ask yourself honestly; do you really know what your ideal client WANTS!

How To Be Fearless

Posted by on August 17, 2009 at 2:45 am

t5I'm going to tell you a story about how I became fearless, how it gave me the POWER to open up multiple six-figure boot camp locations, and the three things you can do right now, to achieve the SAME THING!

Now this is a really personal subject for me, but after meeting a ton of the cool fitness professionals that read my blog, I feel like where family so I can open up to you... (Plus my therapist says it's good for me 🙂

So here goes

14 years ago (in a past life it seems) way before I had multiple six figure boot camps locations and a successful group training studio, I was controlled by fear.

I'm talk'n EXTREME FEAR

So here's the story...

Back in college, I was going through a pretty stressful time (Blew out my ACL, some crappy family stuff, and mid-terms)

I got like no sleep for 48 hours studying (Cuz I have add it takes me a long time) and I had my last mid-term in a couple hours so my friend told me to take a couple of caffeine pills and I would be fine.

I probably just should have had some coffee but at the time, I never drank the stuff.

Well, when all the caffeine form the pills hit my system my chest tightened up, my heart started pounding and and almost blacked out.

I thought I was having a heart attack but it ended up being a major anxiety attack.

Well something snapped in my brain because from that day on, all my fears felt totally exaggerated.  (The doc told me I "broke" the part of my brain that manages fear)

5tLike the smallest thing that would normally be no big deal (like meeting a new person) made me have total anxiety.

I let it get so bad that I slowly began to stop doing anything that would make me feel that way...

And before I knew it, I made myself a prisoner in my own dorm room (I hardly left my room, and when I did, I got back there as fast as I could.)

I'm telling ya... It was a pretty dark time in my life as I went from being an All-American athlete to feeling like a total wuss-bag, barricaded in my dorm room.

To make a VERY LONG story short, I leaned two thing that changed my life forever.

How to turn your worst fears into putty in your hands... and , that the #1 reason why people do not (and will not EVER) have the life, business and money they truly want is because of FEAR.
