Keepin’ It Real!

p37-1Question... What's worse than a sleazy car salesman trying to sell you that broken-down Chevy with the dingy air-conditioner, lifeless tires, and the "Gettin' Lucky in Kentucky!" bumper sticker?

Answer... A sleazy trainer without the knowledge, experience, and know-how to get people measurable results and is more focused on showing you which way the gun show is or simply bullying you into forking over your credit card.

p37-2The great thing about being a part of that miniscule percentage of fitness professionals that actually give a damn about becoming great marketers and great business owners is that it is so friggen' easy to set yourself apart from all the other sleeze bags out there.

Now let's not get carried away into thinking that this takes some magic potion, secret formula, or ground-breaking revelation to figure out exactly how to do that. It's actually really quite simple.

Your one duty-your one chore-your one must-do item on the to-do-list for being a kick-ass boot camp marketer and business owner is....

YOU GOTTA KEEP IT REAL!

Now, I know that seems like common sense to most people, but don't fool yourself into thinking that simply honoring your 30-day refund policy or giving someone an extra 15-minutes question answering session is what I am eluding to.  In fact, these things don't even begin to scratch the surface.

There are several crucial components that go into keeping it real...

p37-3** You see, no one wants to be around someone  they think is fake, tells them what they want to hear, or simply appeases them.

**No one wants to be around an exact carbon copy of someone they once encountered.

**No one wants to be screwed, stabbed in the back, or deceived.

**And most importantly, no one wants to put up with incompetence.

1 Thing That Will Help You Get MASSIVE Success

Posted by on May 30, 2009 at 8:30 am

Guest post by
Adam "The Great Knackers" Toohey

p36-1Heeeeey everyone, Steve here with another amazing guest post from my good friend Adam Toohey.  Adam is a MASSIVE ACTION taker and is a charter member of Fit Body Boot Camp... AKA project X.

Enjoy!

There comes a time in all of our lives that we realize there is much more to life than just ourselves. For some it comes at a very young age, for others it sinks in at a much later date.

There are then those who seemingly never wake up to the reality of growth and contribution.

Whether you are a Personal Trainer, Bootcamp Instructor, Fitness Entrepreneur or Lazy Bum on Welfare there is one thing that will set you apart from everyone else and that is simply this..."Your willingness to give unconditionally"

Twelve months ago I came to Toronto with my clothes, some books and a few bucks. Now coming from Australia is a bloody long way as you can imagine and it would take a gorgeous Canadian Girl to do that. Effectively I packed up my things, left all my friends and family whom I am very close to and set on a path that would ultimately change my life.

p36-2A total world of uncertainty lay before me and I'd be lying if I told you I wasn't somewhat scared. I needed some stability and was fortunate enough to get straight into the Fitness Industry albeit at "One of those Gyms" and by that I mean Big Gym Chain Gyms.

I didn't have a website, a blog, hell I didn't even have a URL and yet here I am presenting a guest post for "THE GREAT"... Steve "Knackers" Hochman.

Currently I have a couple of websites that are getting great traffic and I have my hands on a tremendous business opportunity in Fit Body Boot Camp (aka  PROJECT X). Oh I also quit my J.O.B. last week at "The Gym" and as of next Tuesday I will be a FREE MAN.

Right now I will flat out tell you that I am not making six figures. (This will be changing very soon) I will also tell you that it has not been my focus and whenever I have focused on "The Money" it has seemingly gotten further and further away.

Don't get me wrong... I LOVE MONEY... especially the Benjamin's... Lots of them... But the truth is that money is just by product of how much you are willing to give.

We have heard this before and it will forever ring true... "If you help people get what they want, you in turn will get what you want"

If you have been following Steve, Chris and Bedros for a while then you will have heard them talk of the "Law of Reciprocity". The law states that if you give without condition to a friend, colleague, peer or otherwise then in time you will be repaid. In some way, shape or form your unconditional contribution will be returned to you by those very same people you gave to. (more…)

How To Rock Your Fitness Boot Camp Profits By Adding Boxing Workouts

Posted by on May 23, 2009 at 11:42 am

p34-11I interviewed this MANIAC from Brooklyn New York named Bryan Ortiz AKA "The Fitness Demon"

He's been KILL'N it with his boot camps in Brooklyn and making them stand out from his competition by adding boxing to his workouts.

This has had two HUGE impacts on his boot camp profits because...

  1. He is getting more clients with his boot camp marketing because it's different then his competition (He has TONS of competition in NYC)
  2. p34-2aBecause there are so many variations of boxing workouts, his boot camp workouts stay FRESH and NEW which ads HEAPS of VALUE and longer CLIENT RETENTION.

I know that to stay PASSIONATE you have to constantly learn new ways to KICK your client's butts...

You know how when you learn a cool new routine your like, "Oh, your gonna get it today... I got a new workout that's gonna kick your butt!"

You get excited and your boot campers get excited!

Remember my A.P.E principals

p34-3aAppreciation -
ALWAYS profusely THANK your clients when they come in... And thank them for a great workout when they leave!

Passion -
Stay passionate by constantly learning new stuff, and kicking your client's butts with it... It ads TONS of VALUE and they'll love ya for it.

Enthusiasm -
Know what your life's DREAM is... And when you get up in the morning and go to your boot camp... Don't do it for ypur clients... Do it because it's the next logical step to achieving your LIFE'S DREAM.

You'll End up delivering WAY more ENERGY then your clients expect... And it will be a HUGE WIN-WIN for both of you!

How to Harness Unstoppable Motivation For Your Fitness Business

Posted by on May 16, 2009 at 10:12 am

Guest post by Zach Hunt

p33-1I was always a little unusual as a kid, besides the fact that I never really talked to anyone in School (besides the teacher) I would usually read 1-2 books a week (while in class). Then go home, study computer programming books and work on that until like 2AM.

One thing I did have right was "I always stayed motivated to do my best at whatever my desire in life was".

Back then it was to learn as much as I could about programming languages (C++, Visual Basic, Delphi, whatever else). While programming has certainly come in handing creating my own website, my main motivation in life now is just massively crushing the competition in my fitness business here locally. That just brings a smile to my face just thinking about it.

p33-3Some of my favorite books on the topic of motivation, mindset and success are...

- "Psycho-Cybernetics", by Dan Kennedy.

If you haven't read this one yet, definitely check it out immediately.

- Goes right with "How To Win Friends And Influence People", for me, that one being about how to interact with others, this one how to interact with yourself (sorta).

It goes like this, "The essence of Psycho-Cybernetics is the accurate, calm, and ultimately automatic separation of fact from fiction, fact from opinion, actual circumstance from magnified obstacle, so that our actions and reactions are solidly based on truth, not our own or others' opinions."

  • Basically not limiting yourself based on your perceived limits or perceived limitations from others,
  • Letting yourself out of the box to just be bold, aggressive and fearless in your life.
  • There are so many great nuggets of truth in this book,

whenever I read this book I felt like jumping out and doing something bold and fearless. (more…)

The 5-Step Method to Creating KILLER Craigslist Ads that will INSTANTLY Boost your Fitness Business

Posted by on May 11, 2009 at 9:05 am

By David Tendrich (Steve Hochman's little bro)

p32-1My little bro is making piles of extra cash-o-la in his spare time from his guitar lessons biz while he's going to college. To be honest, when I was his age I was throwing water balloons at dudes from the 7th floor of the dorms.  Damn I miss that... Good times.

But what's really cool is that he gets 100% of his clients by marketing on craigslist all for FREE!
(I guess this business stuff runs in the family or something cuz he's KILLING IT)

So my little bro wrote this 5 five step fitness marketing system that will have you dominating Craigslist too. (He really went ALL OUT SO BE SURE TO LEAVE A COMMENT J)

Step 0: What you MUST do before you write an ad!

In order to effectively tell people why your service is so great, you have to know for yourself. I'm sure you know why you're the best out there, but maybe you've never put it into words.

Create two lists:

  • List 1 is an in-depth list of every service you offer
  • List 2 is a list of all the benefits someone would receive from hiring you.

Go into as much detail as possible. You will draw from these lists to write your whole ad.

Now onto the actual ad . . .

What The Hell Happened At FBS09

Posted by on May 7, 2009 at 1:42 pm

kissFBS09 was a friggin ROCK SHOW!  Nothing has ever come close... I'm still buzzing from it... Seriously I can barley type.  I think I pooped in my pants... (just kidding about the poop)

Meeting all the SteveHochman.com supporters and hearing about the INSANE amounts of success you were havening was easily one of the top 5 moments of my entire life.

Dude... The love at FBS09 was un-friggin-real!

So I want you to know that I mean this from the bottom of my heart... THANK YOU!

I am so proud of my two best friends Bedros Keuilian and Chris McCombs.  They completely DESTROYED it.

The undisputed innovator of blogging for profits Chris-mutha-fuckin-McCombs put on a sick Clinique on how to make multiple streams of income from your blog... Dude he broke it down like a mofo.

And my bro Bedros "How did I get this stain on my paints" Keuilian made the audience's head spin with MASSIVE "take immediate action" content!

Also my close friends Vince Delmonte and Valerie Waters brought the THUNDA big time!

Pete Shilling's cool as fuck!... Seriously I feel like we're brothers.
And so is Ryan Orrico, Pat Beith and my friend my down Unda Adam "Jatz Toohey.

ang

FBS09 Had it ALL... Laughs, money getting, crazy-ass-videos, thousands of dollars in cash and prizes, alcohol and bloody violence!

That's right bloody violence!
See for yourself.

Fitness Boot Camp Nightmare

Posted by on May 6, 2009 at 10:03 pm

p31-1Dude, the first boot camp I ever opened sucked hairy goat balls.

I remember it like it was yesterday... It was the day before Christmas Eve, I woke up at 4:30am and it was POURING RAIN and FREEZING COLD...

(Maybe not for the rest of the country but freezing for Cali lol)

Two girls showed up so I said what the hell... And made them workout in the rain.

Good times

The next few days were cold, wet and muddy...

Oh wait a minute... I just remembered I have video of it.

Check it out

p31-2

p31-3

So, after accidentally stumbling upon a boot camp GOLDMINE, Bedros "Multiple 7-Figure Income Streams" Keuilian and I created PROJECT X, which was finally unveiled at the FBS09... And if you were there then you know it was FRIGGIN CRAZY!

Oh ya, in case you still don't know... It's the greatest boot camp BUSINESS model on the planet... Fit Body Boot Camp.

The reason I say business model, is because unlike those other boot camps, this model was designed to be duplicated and replicated all the way up to seven figures.

The Evolution of Fitness Boot Camps

Posted by on April 28, 2009 at 5:28 pm

p30-1

ATTENTION: This may affect you!

p30-2To understand the evolution of the fitness boot camp and how YOU CAN AVOID becoming extinct, listen up.

The second wave of fitness boot camps are here right now!

Let me explain.

It all started with military boot camps, also called basic training.   Usually these boot camps would last about 9 weeks.

Recruits would arrive soft and out of shape but leave supercharged fitness machines.  They would have a drill sergeant screaming at them to try to break them down, forcing all the recruits become one cohesive unit, then build them back up.

Well, some fitness dude got the idea of having a fitness boot camp for the GENERAL PUBLIC... And modeled it after a military boot camp.  And hey, it was pretty cool, especially since there was no competition.

p30-3Then shows like the Biggest loser, and Celebrity Boot Camp kick started a media frenzy resulting in boot camps (following this same model) poping up in every nook and cranny.

Then, one boot camp model became every popular... Mostly cuz it was the only official model around at the time...

The problem was "IT" copied the military model and everyone else copied "IT"

p30-4And that was fine... for the FIRST GENERATION.

But heads up... the second generation has begun, and it makes the old one look like a knuckle dragging caveman. (more…)
