Creating an Effective Fitness Boot Camp Marketing Funnel on Facebook

Bedros has spoken several times about the extremely effective fitness boot camp marketing that can be done on Facebook. But it’s possible to create a great following on Facebook and get lots of great comments and interaction without actually making any money from it.

At the last Fitness Business Summit, Josh Carter, perhaps THE Facebook marketing expert in our business, spoke in depth about maximizing the potential of Facebook for getting new clients. Bedros just uploaded the entire one-hour video and I strongly recommend that you go watch it here. His nuts and bolts advice is invaluable.

But in the meantime, I want to share with you his simple and effective plan for using Facebook as a fitness boot camp marketing funnel. It’s a deceptively easy, five-step plan that turns Facebook onlookers into qualified leads for your business.

Screen Shot 2014-10-30 at 10.11.03 PMThat’s really the main crux of Josh’s talk; that all the Facebook fans in the world won’t make you money unless you are creating a funnel through which they become actual leads. Even though we talk a lot about the value of organic promotion (posts that your friends and clients share with their friends), organic promotion doesn’t actually get you the multitude of prospects that Josh’s plan is going for.

The fact is that only about 10-15% of your Facebook fans see your status update or motivational post. So even if you have 5,000 followers, only 500 or so are being reached. Why? Because Facebook wants you to pay for wider-reaching or more targeted ads.

At first, you might think this sucks. But targeted ads are well worth the money. In fact, Josh likens Facebook to a money machine when targeted ads are used. As he says, “You put ten dollars in and get eleven dollars out. If you had a machine that did that, how often would you put a ten-dollar bill in the machine? As often as possible.” It’s called investing in your fitness boot camp marketing and it’s a smart investment.

So here is Josh’s Facebook to sales funnel plan in a nutshell:

Step 1: Create a link post for Facebook. It can use a great, inspiring image from your boot camp, a wonderful transformation or anything else that will pique the reader’s interest. The link will go to your squeeze page, which we’ll get to in just a moment.Screen Shot 2014-10-30 at 10.15.36 PM

Step 2: Turn that link post into a paid Facebook ad for your target audience. Josh’s video will explain that for you in greater detail.

Step 3: Readers click on the link post and are taken directly to your squeeze page. If you don’t know how to create a squeeze page, you can learn how to do it in just a few minutes. Instructions are all over the internet and you can also see how Josh does it on the video.

On your squeeze page you can tell a bit about yourself and your boot camp, and offer some free, valuable information that will get them started knowing, liking and trusting you. You can even offer a free download of a fitness info product you’ve created in return for signing up for your email list. But the whole point of the squeeze page s to get them to give you their email address.

Step 4: People sign up for the email list and an auto-responder gets back to them immediately with a great low-barrier offer or an invitation to sign up for FitPro. If you didn’t offer a free fitness info product on your squeeze page, now is a good time to include that.

Step 5: Start sending value-rich content to these prospects that help them to know, like and trust you and periodically make them a great low-barrier offer.

It’s as simple as that. As I said, Josh goes into great detail in the video and watching it may be one of the most profitable hours you spend this month or this year. If you’re not already making the most of Facebook as a sales funnel, starting now can completely transform your boot camp business.
