Isn't it so friggin cool when a boot camp marketing strategy that is virtually free and easy to do works so damn well?

    Hi Steve,

    I just implemented this very strategy earlier this week with a local dance studio... but with one additional twist.

    Each time a prospect joins from one of the gift cards sold through the fundraiser, I am kicking back 1/2 of the first month revenue to the dance studio which is credited directly to the specific dance student that sold the gift card. Since they are selling the gift cards for $20 but can generate an additional $74.50 ($249-$100x50%) for each person that joins my bootcamp, it makes them much more zealous salespeople for me. As we all know... Money motivates people!

    And when I explain to the prospect that WHEN they join the girl that sold them the gift card makes an additional $74.50 towards their individual dance expenses, it makes a much more compelling offer (since the odds are very high that the girl is a relative or close family friend that they already chose to help). It makes it a lot harder for them to say no!

    Since I have the gift cards numbered like credit cards in sequential order it makes it easy to track which dance student sold the gift card.

    Does it hurt me to give up 1/2 of the first month? Nope. Does it make the fundraiser more appealing to the organization? Absolutely! Is the orgnization more willing to support my program and spread the word about me? What do you think?

    I actually just did this with the local elementary school. Had a meeting with the president of the PTA and she's putting me in the pta newsletter, giving me a table to all the major school events for the year as a sponsor, as well as inviting me to their banquets where i can speak to all the pta members. Basically positioning me as the local fitness expert to all the parents in a 2 mile radius of my boot camp. Cost: 100- $100 gift cards and the time and energy it took to drive to the school and walk into the front office. Thanks Steve!

    freaking amazing post steve! i love it! damn i put down "get 2 weeks of training when you use this card" on my gift cards already.

    looks like it's time to whip up anew order of gift cards.
