The 7 Factors For Rock’n 6-Figure Boot Camps

Posted by on April 12, 2011 at 3:03 am

If you DON'T want to rock out 6 to 7 figure boot camps then you are wasting your time reading this blog post.

Are you still there?

Ok, cool (I wonder if anyone clicked off?)

So quickly building multiple six-figure boot camp locations and then 2 short years later creating the largest and coolest boot camp franchise in the wold didn't happen TOTALLY BY ACCIDENT.

Just kidding, it happened because I knew that blowing up boot camps relied on 7 specific factors.

In fact, if you miss even one of these 7 factors, you probably will never really have a HUGE boot camp business with multiple locations and a crazy awesome lifestyle.

But of course you know you can count on your pal Steve give you the low down on what the heck to do.

See here we go.

Factor 1 - Getting Ultimate Location

By know after following me for a while you've probably realized that 9 times outta 10, indoor bot camps generate WAY MORE revenue than out door ones.

So either sublease some cheap space from a gymnastics or cheer center, or lease your own stand-alone building.

Parks are cracking down hard and a lot of boot camps are getting kicked out, plus no one really likes wet grass and muddy shoes right?

Also, space to lease is super cheap right now, so it's a darn good time.

Factor 2 - Total  Marketing Domination

No one would argue that there's more competition than ever and if you don't know how to market like a pro, then your bot camp may be in serious danger.

Here are the top 4 easiest and least expensive boot camp marking strategies to start with.

Human Billboards -  (Train peeps for free or at a discount to get referrals and penetrate your community's inner circles)

Your website - An attention getting headline, a compelling video with lots of social proof and a risk free call to action is a simple recipe for a client getting website.

Leadboxes - These are one of the most over looked boot camp marketing tools.

Simple maths says that 50 leadboxes X's 3-5 leads per month each = 150 to 250 leads per month.

Hmmm, as long as you convert just 10% of those leads, you'll get 15 to 25 new clients each month.

Top 10 Ways To Build Your Boot Camp Cult

Posted by on April 8, 2011 at 1:42 am

Heeey Steve here - I was just hangin with the great FBBC owner and coach Cara "The Texan Boot Camp Cult Leader" Eckerman.

I've never seen anyone get as many referrals as this girl - She averages like 5 a week.

So, here's a short but POWERFUL list via Cara Eckerman of 11 ways to build a boot camp of raving, referring fans with "cult-like" loyalty to you.

So here we go:

1. Group breakfasts, coffee, happy hour etc - About every other week, invite your boot camp clients out for a bite or a coffee.

It's amazing how bonding it can be when you take your clients out of the boot camp setting and into a more social one.

Have a few drinks and laughs with your clients and watch how close they feel to you.

2. Congratulate Milestones - Know your boot camp members goals and hot buttons.  When they make a big improvement or hit goal, reward them and celebrate as a group

3. Group races, runs, and mini-triathlons - Doing group races and events is a really great way to not only keep your boot camp members motivated, but it's super bonding.

Also, your clients will most likely Facebook and talk to their friends about it with their friends which can easily turn into referrals.

4. Circle time - After boot camp, have the whole group sit around in a circle and stretch.

5. The Wall of Fame - Tell your boot camp clients that they can get on the wall by attending 5 classes in a row or doing 2 classes in day.

This helps build accountability and community like crazy!

Every single person that walks in wants their name in "the wall"!

Go around the group and have everyone say their name, how long they've been a member, why they came, and what they've accomplished.

This creates a real feeling of community, support and a, "We're all in this together" feeling.

6. Thank you cards , text messages , phone calls - Send personal texts and call your clients on a regular basis - and every Sunday personally call ALL your clients and give them a "pump up' for the next week.

This is magical.

Triple Your Productivity With The “List Method”

Posted by on March 28, 2011 at 9:06 pm

Hey Steve here - I hope you had an awesome Monday.

I wanted to share the most simple and powerful productivity tool ever.

And when used the "right" way, this little magical tool will give you WAY more free time and revenue while getting a ton more stuff done.

So here's what you do.

Put all the most important things that YOU have to do to move your business forward in the left hand column.

And put all the other stuff that you can outsource in the right hand column.

In reality only about 5% of the things you do will rapidly move your business forward, and the other 95% could be outsourced to an assistant or an outside company.

Some of the things that YOU should do are calling leads, putting out leadboxes and interviewing sales people.

Some of the things that you should outsource are inputting new clients, sending out thank you cards and paying bills.

It's super important that you make your list the night before so that you can start being productive first thing in the morning.

One of the biggest reasons that fitness professionals are not as far ahead with their business as they should be is because they do not know what to outsource and what to do.

It's not like they like to be too busy to relax, hang with their fam or get important things done...

It's just that they don't know.

The Secret To Getting Your Emails Opened, Read And Acted Upon

Posted by on March 24, 2011 at 8:59 am

Pssst…

I got a little secret for ya.

If you're emails are NOT getting opened, then a whole-lot-a-nuthin is going happen.

I know you have life changing info, a fat vaporizing workout, and more energy than a Chihuahua eating chocolate but no one will have a chance to take action if you're email just sits in their in-box collecting dust.

So to help you on your heroic quest to change lives and make a difference in this crazy world, I got three email marketing tips for ya.

Tip #1 - The Subject Line Is King

The most important part of your email has got to be the subject line because if your email doesn't get opened, you're S.O.L.

So be sure to have an interesting and provocative subject line that captures your readers curiosity.

Here are a few of my subject lines with the highest open rates.

  • Hey (name) did I send this to you
  • Sorry
  • Bad news
  • Terrible news
  • I screwed up but I made good
  • Re: Big mistake!
  • You are going to die (If you use this one make sure you open the email with… It’s true, you’re going to die eventually but…)
  • Hey
  • Here you go
  • Sorry, I couldn’t find it….
  • I think this was meant for you
  • I got this by mistake
  • Thanks
  • Did you get this
  • Weird
  • No, sorry

Also the subject line can give you some creative ideas for writing your email.

How To Start A Boot Camp

Posted by on March 13, 2011 at 2:23 pm

Before I co-created the world's largest and most successful boot camp franchise (Fit Body boot Camp, I had to start my first boot camp from scratch-o-la.

Man, I WISH I could have found a post like this on how to start a boot camp - It would have saved me a whole lot of headaches and wasted time.

But boot camps as the world knew it was still in the stone ages-and boot camp 2.0 needed to be born.

Onward...

Now it's 2011, and after collaborating on over 525 successful boot camp launches, it's pretty safe to say, I have discovered the most powerful, tested and proven formula for how to start a boot camp.

So without further ado, here is the "How To Start A Boot Camp" formula.

Selecting a location - The old "in the park" model is pretty much dead.

No one wants to deal with cold mornings, rain, snow, wet grass, doggie poopie, or working out in the dark.

And with so many boot camps popping up, public park officials are cracking down more than ever.

And that means you run the risk of getting shut down at a moments notice.

So there are two choices for INDOOR locations in the "How To Start A Boot Camp" formula.

You can either sublease space in the mornings of cheer leading centers, gymnastics centers, dance studios or karate studios.

Since these places don't usually open until the afternoon, they are usually happy to sublease to you on their "off" hours for a small rental fee.

The other option is to lease your own "stand-alone" facility.

Right now rent is super cheap and you can find a really good deal in a light industrial center, retail center or strip mall.

The advantage of having a "stand-alone" location is that you can run more classes including night classes, and you will be in charge.

The worlds #1 Big Hairy Fitness Marketing Strategy

Posted by on March 8, 2011 at 1:22 am

Wow, I just got done with a killer leg workout at 24 Hour Fitness.

For me it's just convenient to workout there.

But MAN, it never fails...

Whenever I see a trainer looking like a zombie, just going through the motions being a human rep counter, it DRIVES ME FRIGGIN CRAZY!

CRAZY I SAY.

Back when I used to train clients, it would always embarrass me because I DID NOT want to be associates with those kind of trainers.

Not to mention, if you're gonna put in the time at least BRING THE FRIGGIN ENERGY and do it right.

And maybe, just maybe, they'll end up getting a ton of referrals...

And then MAKE MORE MONEY...

And then they may have an epiphany like, "Hmmm, if I keep getting a ton of referrals because I rock, then why the hell do I need to be an employee at a lame box gym and give them 65 to 75 percent of my income."

Then maybe.... Just maybe, they'll go off on their own as a sub-contractor an earn six-figures and not have to wear a dorky uniform.

But nooooo...

It's much better to be a "zombie trainer", ya, that's definitely the way to go.

And like I said, even after all these years, it still drives me NUTS.

I seriously feel like telling the trainer to step-a-side and saying, "THIS IS HOW IT'S DONE."

Ok, maybe I'm just a little mental, but I like to think it's PASSION!

So where an I going with all this?

Whether you're a "zombie trainer" or a high energy dominator, here is the proven formula to take your game to the next level.
