The Boot Camp Retention Grandmasta!

Posted by on November 1, 2011 at 6:16 pm

Heeeey, Steve here, I hope you're having an AWESOME, AMAZING and ADVENTUROUS week 🙂

So, the other day, one of my mastermind clients asked my what she can do to improve retention.

Well, the GRANDMASTER of boot camp client retention is non other than the GREAT Fit Body Boot Camp owner Cara Eckerman.

Soooo, I emailed her asking for her top retentions tips...

And her response was so awesome that I thought I'd share it with you by turning it into a blog post.

So here it is...

Cara Eckerman's boot camp retention secrets:

Massive FB page interaction - Posting success stories, motivational quotes, recipes, Fun pics, etc.. It encourages people to interact and then people friend each other from boot camp.

Wall of Fame - If you attend a week straight or be a workout warrior( back to back boot camps) you get to put up your name with a cool quote.

5K walk runs, warrior dashes etc - they always have something going on.

We always have a contest of some sort - ie 10 FB check ins for a Tshirt, Lose so many inches in a month and for each inch we donate 2$ to the fire dept, this month we have PINK Fridays for Breast cancer awareness. so there is always something going on that serves a bigger purpose or just for funzzies 🙂

Circle time - End of class, cool down where we give props to new peeps, and recognize achievements, joke, talk nutrition, share tips etc

Saturday workshops with fun names Bikini Booty, Hips buns and thighs etc where we get stuff donated and draw prizes.

Text of shame - if someone misses we take a pic of the class with their thumbs down and text it to them

Sunday hikes or jogs where we all meet up then go out for lunch after.

The usual pump up texts and fb shout outs.

Support their causes donate to a clients PTA organization ( gift cards or a free month ), be aware of what is important to your members...

One of our clients best friend lost their home in a fire and we raised a bunch of money and stuff for the family so just have your trainers have there ears open and be the first one to lend a helping hand.

Team up with local businesses to get certificates or items to give away just on a whim ( we have Fit Body meals at Chik Filet a and will give those away, or get free style and cut from the hair salon next door )

Member of the month award

We also have a member board where everyone comes in and puts a pin and you can see who has attended the most classes.

A reach out call following the first class.

Each member is greeted by their first name and we say bye to everyone.

30 minute express classes at night.

After they sign up a hand written gift card is sent out to them thanking them containing two giftcards to give to friends to earn a FREE month then a week later our assistant calls the client to check up on them and to make sure that they received the card and she will ask who they gave the gift cards too and collect name, # and email addy of those people.

We also will send  a card out once a month if people want to sit down with us to catch up on nutrition to make sure they are on track we call it "the you can't out train a bad diet accountability program"

Welp Cara, once again, you spread the love...

Thanks for giving so much to so many!

Very Sophisticated Fitness Boot Camp Markering Strategy Called “Caring”

Posted by on October 11, 2011 at 1:18 am

Before I became the world's boot camp marketing authority I only knew one fitness marketing strategy.

It was called CARING.

And this one tiny little method took my fitness business to $22k per month.

It was simple really...

I just made these COMMITMENTS to myself:

You may "out-smart" me, but you will never "out-CARE" me.

You know more, but you will NEVER CARE MORE.

You may may have more experience, but you will never have more CARING.

You may make more money, but you will never make anyone feel more cared about.

How To Take Your Boot Camp Sexiness To The Next Level!

Posted by on October 1, 2011 at 3:07 pm

One of the things that I always did when I was building my boot camps and personal training business is make it SEXY.

I did this by filling my programs with hot models and also posting their pics on my website for "social proof" that if ya want to look hot, I'm the "go to" guy to get you their.

I did this for a few reasons...

1.  It's one of the easiest and fastest way to separate you from your competition.

2.  It positions you as an authority when it comes to creating sexy bodies.

3.  It ads a sexy flavor to your workouts.

4.  It's just cool.

Here are a few models that trained with me and let me use their pics on my website and marketing pieces.

So here's exactly how to find FREE MODELS on craigslist.com to fill your boot camps and for you boot camp marketing.

How To Have A Big’O Pair Of Brass Balls And Avoid “No Ballness” Disease

Posted by on September 27, 2011 at 2:50 am

So many fitness marketing strategies fail because of a lack of BRASS BALLS.

I'm mean, I sure have been seeing a lot of "No Ballness" disease lately.

"No ballness" occurs when some one "wants" to do something and knows they should do it, but when it comes time to execute, they just don't have the balls to pull the trigger.

I'm talking about following up on leads, walking into businesses, closing prospects, talking to strangers when their is a perfect opportunity, or just getting their shit done - Stuff like that.

WE ALL feel fear and anxiety, but the difference between the hero and the coward is what we do about it.

Typically the coward runs away while the hero stares fear in the face and says, "Come on punk, let's party!"

Being a badass with big balls isn't about going around acting like a "tuff guy" - Not at all.

Besides, most of those dudes are just insecure pussies anyway.

Being a big balled badass is about having the guts to get out of your comfort zone.

It's about feeling the fear, but doing it anyways.

It's about going for your dreams and not letting anyone (especially yourself and your fears) stand in your way.

It's about looking at ANY situation, especially negative ones and KNOWING that something awesome will come out of it.

It's about FOLLOWING YOUR FEAR.

The Secret Art Of Selling Promos And Free S–T Like A Gangsta

Posted by on September 20, 2011 at 2:36 am

I did a post the other day about the "Fund Raiser" Method and how you could use this tactic to turbo boost the FaceBook Viral Method

(Oh ya, and do some good in the world while you're at it)

But what's this?  You can't give away free sh-t?  Whaaaat?

How could this be?

Well, here is EXACTLY why you may be having a hard time selling people free stuff and also selling special promos.

Here's the big "aha"moment, people DO NOT buy what they DO NOT understand (Even if it's free or damn close).

Don't worry, I'm gonna break it down for you with this example.

If ya did a little experiment where you went up to 10 strangers and offered to sell them a ten dollar bill for a one dollar bill, I'd bet just about anything that 9 outta 10 say no thanks!

Why though?  Wouldn't it be a steal to buy 10 bucks for a dollar?

Now, go up to ten more strangers and offer to sell them the same ten dollar bill for one dollar BUT explain why.

Say you are doing an experiment in human behavior and you asked ten people if they wanted to buy a ten dollar bill for a buck and nine outta ten said no.

Then tell them that you are doing another experiment where you explain WHY you are selling ten bucks for a dollar and that you want to see if people will respond different when they understand why.

I bet this time about 9 outta 10 will say YES.

Why, because they understand it.

So when you use the "Fund Raiser" Method to sell you $100 gift cards and they can keep all the profit, and you also offer to train all the teachers and faculty for free, EXPLAIN WHY the heck you are doing this.

Tell them you are so fed up with childhood obesity and that you're on a MISSION of gosh damned mercy to do your part to help this catastrophe!
