Boot Camp Marketing

How to create a culture of referrals in your fitness boot camp

Posted by on July 16, 2012 at 11:03 am

It’s interesting to see how some Fitness Boot Camp have an amazing track record of getting referrals, but others, don’t.

This is usually a black and white situation. These businesses either get or they don’t.

This factor doesn’t necessarily have a direct correlation on either the business is a success or a failure but, being good getting referrals sure make it a whole lot easier to run your fitness boot camp business successfully.

On top of knowing how to market a fitness boot camp, you must understand that your prospects and clients are looking for results at first and you must be able to deliver it in order to survive in this business.

But, what now? You are delivering results but there are probably dozens of other personal trainers and boot camps in your area that are also doing so.

So? How do you stand out from this “fitness crowd?” How do you not only keep the clients but also have them refer their friends, families and co-workers to you?

The word that best encapsulates what you need to focus on is EXPERIENCE!

Aside from awesome results you must deliver an awesome experience, an experience that your prospects and clients are not able to find anywhere else.

By now you are probably asking yourself, but HOW? I share a few of the tools we use at Fit Body Boot Camp below.

We all know how frustrating it can be trying to brainstorm new fitness marketing strategies for your business – sometimes it feels like you’re doing the same thing over and over again, with little or no gain. But you’re going to love me folks, because I’ve done all the work for you. Here’s a list of 21 fitness marketing strategies that you can put to good use the next time you’re "stuck." You are welcome!

1. Learn to become a better "assistant buyer" and sell your services more effectively.

2. Build an email list of business owners, local prospects, former clients, and current clients by offering free reports, eBooks, etc. on your website or blog.

3. Run free boot camps for your community one day a week for the course of a month. (I would suggest a day of the weekend, preferably a Saturday.) This way, people can try out your services, learn to love you and what your boot camp has to offer, and spread the word among neighbors, friends, etc.

4. Call former clients and give them short term, low cost offers to come to your program. Make sure the deals you offer are irresistible – make it so they can’t say no! (more…)

Boot Camp Marketing – Owner Interview – Part 4 of 4

Posted by on May 17, 2012 at 2:37 pm

This post brings you the 4th and final part of the interview with owner Shawna Kaminski from Fit Body Boot Camp Calgary.

You can check the 1st part of the interview here, 2nd part here and the 3rd part here. The 1st part has the audio recording of the entire interview.

Fernando:
This is the FBBC unstoppable fitness formula that you are obviously have involved with because you teach the formula to other owners. How would you say that the experience that you get in FBBC, in our boot camps, is different than clients can get at let's say a gym or different personal training center. Because we’re always pushing the envelope and looking for what works best, and always changing our workouts right?

Shawna:
Well that's the big thing. I train at a gym where people train one-on-one with a trainer and it's more like a counseling session... people will sit for 5 minutes and then do one set of laps... I’m like that's ridiculous you know, and you look at professional athletes... for example NFL football players... do you think that they go to the field and practice by themselves. Do they condition by themselves? They might do some, but for the most part those athletes are working within a group and the beauty of FBBC is it's really like personal training in a group setting. So you have the energy of the group that helps spurn you on to probably push you in ways that just a trainer or you could not reach just on your own. And in FBBC, we're always stalking... my clients laugh because I'm like I need your cell phone number. They're like why? Well because I need to stalk you when you're not here. We're not like a gym... if you're not coming we're chasing you down, It's part of our boot camp marketing, retention strategy. No box gym will do that. (more…)

Boot Camp Marketing – Owner Interview – Part 3 of 4

Here is the third part of the interview about Boot Camp Marketing with owner Shawna Kaminski from Fit Body Boot Camp Calgary.

You can check the 1st part of the interview here and the 2nd part here.

Fernando:
Okay, and how about the afternoon classes, do you have those?

Shawna:
Yes, right now because we don't have a stand-alone... we're looking for a stand-alone for Fit Body Boot Camp Calgary North. We both just have a 5pm camp time and that's basically just based on when we can get a rental. So we’re kind of just at the… there is a plug for a stand-alone, and we know that we need that just because we’ll have more opportunity to setup a time that's more suitable for you rather than when you can get a space. The bulk of our clients obviously come in the morning and so we're just in the process of looking for that stand alone. I'm going to stay in my one location that's the big location... I'm in a Soccer Center which I have to rent so it's not ideal but the space is ideal here in Calgary because it's monstrous and it's an outdoor field but we're indoors. So I will always keep that Soccer Center as long as I can, even though I have the downfall of having to rent it and not own it.

Fernando:
You know what's interesting... it's something that you may not know because I coach all the FBBC owners. In the UK clients don't like to work out in the morning, they like to work out in the afternoon. So like you say you're hot times are early in the morning... over there it's like late in the afternoon.

Shawna:
I've heard that yeah because I have a lot of friends in the UK and they were saying the same. They're just not morning people there. So it’s interesting.

Boot Camp Marketing – Owner Interview – Part 2 of 4

Posted by on May 11, 2012 at 10:49 pm

Here is the second part of the interview about Boot Camp Marketing with owner Shawna Kaminski from Fit Body Boot Camp Calgary.

You can check the 1st part of the interview here.

Fernando:
And you've been a trainer and a fitness expert all your life pretty much? Is that all you've done?

Shawna:
Well, I was actually a school teacher for 20 years and during that time... like I was always athletic and into competitive sports. And because of that, I naturally was always in the gym and kind of went into training. Even when I was teaching school I was always doing some sort of training one-on-one and that sort of thing. And then in 2004 I started a small studio, and a fitness business in 2007, and a month after that I opened a boot camp, so I've been running boot camp since 2007. So I've been a trainer for a very long time.

Fernando:
And you can see the evolution of the boot camp business model throughout those years, right?

Shawna:
Oh my goodness, yes I've really streamlined. My workouts have become more effective... I'm getting better results for clients... all research-based workouts that really can get clients the most benefit... the most bang for their buck in the shortest amount of time. It's pretty exciting that my one-on-one training... initially... has evolved into this boot camp which I feel is much more effective than one-on-one training, and I enjoy the group training so much more anyway. So yes, there’s been a huge evolution. Our strategies for Boot Camp Marketing also evolved tremendously.

Bedros Keuilian Scam Claims: Review Of His Business Building Products

Posted by on May 10, 2012 at 10:27 pm

Hi, I'm Anna Gallahan and I'm a personal trainer at North West Fitness Center.

A few months ago I was looking for better strategies and techniques for attracting and retaining more cash-paying clients for my personal training business. I needed to learn the fundamentals of operating my own business.

Training is my passion but my marketing techniques left something to be desired.  I was just flying by the seat of my pants.

bedros_keuilian_scam_reviewA good friend referred me to Bedros Keuilian’s products and I thought this would make a good review for others.  I found his website and  Sadly, in researching more about Bedros, I found a very small but incredibly hurtful attacks to not only his business products but also to his person. Once I found that those Bedros Keuilian scam claims where completely unfounded my mind was at easy so I purchased the PT Business course (aka The Art of Selling Fitness) and System 9.

I was blown away at how my business grew by implementing the sales strategies and revamping my pricing structure as Bedros recommended on the business course. My sales strategy before PT Business Course and System 9… I had no plan of attack with prospects and felt like I was a pushy car salesman and had no idea how to handle objections.

I now have a plan of attack with everyone I meet with and I don't have to worry about being pushy. Using the forms and manual provided made the whole process easy and painless.  PT Business course provides all the health history, client agreement, and ready to launch marketing files I will ever need. I now have proven and reliable sales tactics at my fingertips.

There are marketing campaigns, e-marketing and persuasive selling and closing systems at my fingertips. My phone is ringing off the hook and I now have a competition free, recession proof training studio. (more…)
