Top Ten Fitness Boot Camp Marketing Strategies

One of the most asked questions by trainers that are considering starting a fitness boot camp business is "What do I do about marketing?", or a variation of this question. Marketing is a beast of it's own and can make or break your business. The great news is that when you join Fit Body Boot Camp your Marketing campaigns are "done-for-you" so you don't have to spend your time and dollars with trial and error. FBBC not only points you in the right direction but it also leads you there.

Here are Fit Body Boot Camp's 10 core Marketing strategies that are used. The best approach to use these systems is to have a yearly schedule where you have on or two of these campaigns going at any given time.

It’s also important to point out that you should never “give up” on any campaign after one try, if you use it and the results are less than expected, it’s a great exercise to revisit it at some point and make the necessary adjustments to make it better.

You never know when a certain campaign will work at it’s best because there are so many variables that can influence the outcome, some known and some unknown. So, read on and find out how to market a fitness boot camp. Read the rest of Top Ten Fitness Boot Camp Marketing Strategies

Why To Start A Fitness Boot Camp Franchise

If you're considering opening your own fitness business to make more money, have a better lifestyle, and to reach more clients then odds are you're an entrepreneur at heart. The idea of starting your own business is very scary because you have so many things to consider, like coming up with a business idea, finding a location, hiring staff, create systems, dialing in your fitness marketing strategies, etc...

Why To Start A Fitness Boot Camp Business_DecisionI just finished reading (listening actually) for the 2nd time the book "The E-Myth Revisited" by Michael Gerber and decide to write a post about the power of the franchise model, especially if you are first time entrepreneur. The book pretty much shatters the idea of starting your business on your own with some pretty scary facts. Gerber mentions the failure-rate statistics for small business: 40% fail in 1 year. Of those who survive the 1st year, 80% fail in 5 years, and of those who survive the 1st 5 years, another 80% fail. In turn, in the franchise model 75% succeed the 1st 5 years. These facts give you a pretty good idea why most people fail in their 1st time small-business venture... They are trying to invent/re-invent the wheel! In other terms, they are trying to come up with models and systems that are already in place and working. Read the rest of Why To Start A Fitness Boot Camp Franchise

Understanding the Alkaline Diet and Alkaline Minerals

Guest Post by Christopher Vasey, N.D.

There are a lot of facts and fiction about Alkaline Water out there today, which is why I felt compelled to write you this article.

After all, I wrote the book on alkaline diet in which I share with you all my knowledge I acquired after years of research.

Alkaline water has only been on the scene since the 90's, and mostalkaline diet of the studies and research performed on the benefits of Alkaline water come from Japan.

One study evaluated 25 people with gastrointestinal problems (constipation, abdominal pain, chronic diarrhea, and indigestion) who were either given Alkaline water or clean water to drink.

It was confirmed that alkaline water is more effective than "drinking" water against chronic diarrhea, abdominal complaints and overall improvement rate (relief of abdominal complaints) and safer than clean water.

Nearly 90% of the test subject that received alkaline water showed significant improvements.

Now while this study was done on a small group of 25 people and while larger and more in depth research should still be conducted, researches noted that Alkaline water was most effective for mild symptoms.

In my research I've discovered evidence pointing to Alkaline Water leading to a significant decrease in PTH and of S-CTX which are two important markers of bone loss.

alkaline waterAlkaline water as an antioxidant?

In one other study human DNA was subjected to oxidative damage similar to what free radicals do to DNA in the body.

Alkaline water was shown to improve the antioxidant activity of vitamin C.

These effects would still need to be tested in humans to confirm, however the research results are very encouraging.

The question I get asked most often is; Can Alkaline water help me?

Everyone's body is different, but in my research and experience I can tell you that Alkaline water has many things going for it, and the emerging research proves to me that Alkaline water is indeed a contributor to better health.

a LOVE department!? An interview…

So Fit Body Boot Camp has a love department! To explain to you how it works, I interviewed Julianna, the youngest member of the Fit Body Boot Camp Team.

FERNANDO: You're in charge of the Fit Body Boot Camp Love Project department. What is that?

how to start a fitness boot camp business heartJULIANNA: At HQ, we love to show love, which is why we started the LOVE Project. This is our way of showing appreciation to our Fit Body Boot Camp owners. Although we enjoy showing people how to start a fitness boot camp business and how to market it, we also enjoy showing our owners how important they are to our organization. It's really part of the core values we run our business by. So every other month, everyone at HQ puts together their ideas of what we think Fit Body owners would enjoy and could really use. Once we decide, we all put time and effort into making each and every package special for all of our owners. It really is a team effort and we can truly say that everyone at HQ takes a part of it (which is something we pride ourselves on). There is nothing like receiving an unexpected gift at your doorstep. Personal Training Business – Bedros Keuilian Interview – 2 of 2

Here is the second part of the interview about with Fit Body Boot Camp Founder Bedros Keuilian.

You can check the 1st part of the interview and the audio of the full interview here.

Fernando: Very well! And for people out there that are looking into starting a business, starting a fitness business for that matter, what kind of support does the franchise, FBBC franchise owner gets from FBBC?

Bedros: Well, this task was a really big point and we made sure that we completely deconstructed every franchise out there that had royally screwed up and every franchise model that had been successful. And what we found was the ones that screwed up were the ones that typically ended up importing upon themselves and Read the rest of Personal Training Business – Bedros Keuilian Interview – 2 of 2

Personal Training Business – Bedros Keuilian Interview – Part 1 of 2

In this post I bring you the man himself, Bedros Keuilian, the creator of Fit Body Boot Camp to share with you the reasons that led him to create it and what his vision is moving forward. You can enjoy the audio or the transcription of the interview right below.

Fernando:
Hi all! This is Fernando Bonato, Head Business Coach at Fit Body Boot Camp and today I have the honor to be interviewing the creator of Fit Body Boot Camp Bedros Keuilian. I’ll ask questions that will give you a better understanding of Bedros vision and what FBBC is about. Hi Bedros! Thanks for taking the call.

Bedros:
Hey Fernando! Thank you so much.

Fernando:
So, I know you have a call in a few minutes. So let’s try to make this straight to the point. First question, why did you create fit body boot camp?

Bedros:
So, basically we created fit body boot camp because it was out of the need to essentially better a model that was already doing well and the model that was doing personal training business rainwell was boot camps that operated in the park. Obviously, as a personal trainer, the number one problem that I saw was a model that was a boot camp run in a park was that you really didn’t have a lot of control and when you don’t have control in a business then you might as well just rename it and call it a job because if you don’t have control of the weather, if you don’t have control of the sprinkler system that’s in the park, if you don’t have control of the right to be in that park because you can get kicked out anytime, well then you’re really held hostage by the elements and by the law, right? And so, what we found was if we can take a boot camp that was successful in the park and initially we ended up putting those in dance centers and gymnastic centers, we found that the success rate was just through the roof. More people were willing to come to an indoor facility that was air-conditioned, that was consistent and that was reliable versus coming early in the morning when it’s cold or when it’s dark outside or when the grass is wet or when there’s, whatever, dog poop on the grass, versus when you come indoors you really have a good setting. Well, that kind of evolved to a whole other place because the big problems with gymnastic centers and dance centers was we were unable to run boot camps anytime past 11-12 o’clock in the afternoon because those facilities were being used by kids during gymnastics. And so we went to what we call now stand-alone facilities which could be a very easily a light industrial center torn office park or in some cases even a strip mall as long as the price is right for square footage. And boy, now you’ve got, you can literally run 4-5 booth camps in the morning and you can run 3-4 booth camps in the evening and you got yourself a really sustainable business that does not only well financially but does not have a lot of moving parts and by that I mean it does not have a lot of employees and does not have a lot of overhead. And in any business, the number one expense, the number cause and it doesn’t matter whether it’s in manufacturing service or whatever, the number one expense in any business is payroll. And so when you can drastically cut down payroll and you can reduce the cost of the service by training people in a group instead of one to one, you really created a sustainable business that more people are going to be attracted to and that’s essentially how fit body boot camp came to be.

Fernando:
Perfect! And obviously Fit Body Boot Camp is not just an indoor boot camp business, we understand that we have many other differences from other personal training businesses but one of the main ones is the Unstoppable Fitness Formula. Can you let us know a little bit more in detail what consists of the Unstoppable Fitness Formula?

Bedros:
Yeah, absolutely men. Again, when we were in the drawing board and we, when you go and you think about “Well what makes my product or service so unique?” you’ll look at Kentucky Fried Chicken and they’ve got the 11 secret herbs and spices and everything has its own unique thing, Bush's Big Beans has their unique recipe, there’s a hotdog that’s called Formula 81 and there’s Heinz 57 and all those things have their unique proprietary blend that makes them different than all of their competitors. And with us, we knew that the push up could no longer just be a push up. The fact of the matter is we want to be competitive in the boot camp business and you want to start a fitness boot camp business that’s going to attract the most client and kind of create a category of one, you’ve got to have a unique offering and a unique selling proposition and that unique selling proposition for us was a push up cannot be a push up. In other words, if a prospect can easily go to YouTube and watch what a good push up is and watch what a prisoner’s squat is and do push-ups and prisoner squats at home, why would they pay us to do that in our facility? Well the reason they would pay us to do that in our facility is because we stack our push-ups and prisoner squat and TRX rows and the things we do with the sliders, in a very unique and special way where each and every person as long as they follow the program and they’re not dogging it or they’re not slacking off and that’s what obviously the trainers are for, we literally put them into after burn and so the unstoppable fitness formula is just that, it’s to get your body into after burn and burn the most amount of calories and stimulate the most amount of muscle tissue in under an hour but then it’s supposed to put you in to after burn where you’re burning an additional whatever amount of calories because your heart or your metabolism is elevated for up to 18 to 20 hours because you really will use the high intensity interval training and metabolic response training together in a special way to create that unstoppable fitness formula. So, no longer is the push up a push up when you stack in the unique and special way that we do and that’s really what separates the results that clients will get at Fit Body Boot Camp versus anything they would either try on their own or by trying something that just an ordinary boot camp.

Boot Camp Marketing – Owner Interview – Part 4 of 4

This post brings you the 4th and final part of the interview with owner Shawna Kaminski from Fit Body Boot Camp Calgary.

You can check the 1st part of the interview here, 2nd part here and the 3rd part here. The 1st part has the audio recording of the entire interview.

Fernando:
This is the FBBC unstoppable fitness formula that you are obviously have involved with because you teach the formula to other owners. How would you say that the experience that you get in FBBC, in our boot camps, is different than clients can get at let's say a gym or different personal training center. Because we’re always pushing the envelope and looking for what works best, and always changing our workouts right?

Shawna:
Well that's the big thing. I train at a gym where people train one-on-one with a trainer and it's more like a counseling session... people will sit for 5 minutes and then do one set of laps... I’m like that's ridiculous you know, and you look at professional athletes... for example NFL football players... do you think that they go to the field and practice by themselves. Do they condition by themselves? They might do some, but for the most part those athletes are working within a group and the beauty of FBBC is it's really like personal training in a group setting. So you have the energy of the group that helps spurn you on to probably push you in ways that just a trainer or you could not reach just on your own. And in FBBC, we're always stalking... my clients laugh because I'm like I need your cell phone number. They're like why? Well because I need to stalk you when you're not here. We're not like a gym... if you're not coming we're chasing you down, It's part of our boot camp marketing, retention strategy. No box gym will do that. Boot Camp Marketing – Owner Interview – Part 3 of 4

Here is the third part of the interview about Boot Camp Marketing with owner Shawna Kaminski from Fit Body Boot Camp Calgary.

You can check the 1st part of the interview here and the 2nd part here.

Fernando:
Okay, and how about the afternoon classes, do you have those?

Shawna:
Yes, right now because we don't have a stand-alone... we're looking for a stand-alone for Fit Body Boot Camp Calgary North. We both just have a 5pm camp time and that's basically just based on when we can get a rental. So we’re kind of just at the… there is a plug for a stand-alone, and we know that we need that just because we’ll have more opportunity to setup a time that's more suitable for you rather than when you can get a space. The bulk of our clients obviously come in the morning and so we're just in the process of looking for that stand alone. I'm going to stay in my one location that's the big location... I'm in a Soccer Center which I have to rent so it's not ideal but the space is ideal here in Calgary because it's monstrous and it's an outdoor field but we're indoors. So I will always keep that Soccer Center as long as I can, even though I have the downfall of having to rent it and not own it.

Fernando:
You know what's interesting... it's something that you may not know because I coach all the FBBC owners. In the UK clients don't like to work out in the morning, they like to work out in the afternoon. So like you say you're hot times are early in the morning... over there it's like late in the afternoon.

Shawna:
I've heard that yeah because I have a lot of friends in the UK and they were saying the same. They're just not morning people there. So it’s interesting.
