Posted by on November 12, 2010 at 3:37 pm

Hey Steve here with a really cool guest post form one of my East Coast coaching clients named Mitch Lee...

Or as I like to call him, Mitch "I swear it wasn't me, I wasn't even in the country" Lee.

This guy is another heavy action taker and a super, super, super cool dude.

Check out his story and see if you can find one or two "take-a-ways" that you can use in your fitness business.

And here's Mitch!

Hey, Mitch here...

Before I tell ya a couple of key things that I learned from Steve's coaching program, I want to tell you where I would be WITHOUT his help.

Here I go... It sucks but it's the truth.

Without Steve Hochman’s encouragement, “in-the-trenches” experience, innovation, kindness and awesome coaching program I know exactly where I would be...

...In limbo

Working all-over-the-place hours, stuck in one-one for one hour HELL, living pay check to pay check and stuck in a job that was taking over my life instead of running a business that fits how I wanna live my life –

BIG difference!

Thanks to Steve’s Coaching Program (Specific Results)

🙂 Had my first 10k month last month!

I have a successful indoor boot camp still in its infancy run by other trainers that is making 4k a month right now and growing every month (do ya think a few grand is worth it to get that kinda return on investment?)

Accept credit cards only so I don’t have to spend my time playing bill collector. Seriously, this alone will increase your income by 10-20%..it just does – it’s crazy!

On pace to hit 6 figures for the first time in 13 years while TRAINING less (working harder than ever but it’s ON the biz and not IN it – HUGE difference)

Live in a bigger place and drive a nicer car – thanks Steve-O!

From job with no future to a business with endless possibilities!

But The Most Important Thing I’ve Learned (it all starts here)

Guest Post – 5 Success Secrets To Smash It With Your Fitness Business

Posted by on November 8, 2010 at 12:24 pm

Hey Steve here with a short but sweet guest post from one of my coaching clients in the U.K.

His name is George Anderson and he is absolutely smashing it with his body weight boot camps and fitness info products for runners.

But not only is George super successful, he's also the kindest and most humble trainer I've ever coached.

Plus, George is a MASSIVE action taker too!

So without further ado.... Here's George Anderson.

Since hiring Steve as my coach May this year, my business has changed drastically.

Actually, for the first time in 8 years of working as a personal trainer I can say that I even have a "business"

When my daughter was born just over 3 years ago, I took a week off working for myself as a personal trainer.

In that week I earned precisely ZERO income.

When you work for yourself as a personal trainer, if you don’t work, you don’t get paid.

After all, you’re exchanging time for money and if you decide you want to do something different with your time (such as clean up poo and work out how you’re going to survive the 6am starts when you return to work) then clearly nobody’s going to pay you for that.

When my son was born just a couple of weeks ago, I still only took a week off work, but this time I still had money pouring into my bank account.

Since working with Steve I now have a business that I run, rather than a job that I show up to every morning.

So here are 5 of the most important lessons I’ve learned since joining Steve's coaching program.

1)     It doesn’t matter how much you think you “know” about fitness marketing, you don’t really know it until you’re actually doing it.

I’ve long known that getting out into the trenches and talking to members of the public would raise my profile and get me new Bootcamp members.

But instead of doing it, I did everything else, all the “important” stuff that meant I didn’t have to actually go out there and get out of my comfort zone!

It’s amazing what you’re capable of when you agree to do it, and are held accountable for the results.

In just 3 weeks of body fat testing I GENERATED 150 NAMES NUMBERS and NUMBERS AND GAINED 8 NEW BOOTCAMP MEMBERS and 2 NEW PERSONAL TRAINING CLIENTS.

How To Get 100 Boot Camp Clients For $25 Bucks

Posted by on November 6, 2010 at 11:14 pm

The whole reason you checkout SteveHochman.com often is to get the freshest, most out-of-the-box six-figure boot camp marketing tactics on the planet.

And darn it, YOU deserve it for changing so many lives.

So now you’re about to get a HUGE HEADSTART at what may be the BIGGEST client getting tactic of the century.

I call it the “Craigs List Foot Soldier Plan” and when I show you the numbers your gonna totally FREAK OUT.

So first, I’m gonna lay out the scenario for you.  (This is very important)

A ton of sales peeps have been laid off because of budget cuts and downsizing.

There searching craigslist like crazy to find another source of income.

(They’re friggin desperate - it’s pretty sad)

So I got to thinking (I do that from time-to-time), sales people need money and something to do, I need more clients… Hmmm.

So I did some simple math, and this is what I came up with…

If I can get 20 skilled sales people to each refer 5 people to my boot camp per month, I would get 100 new clients a month (20 X 5=100)

Or another way to look at is, if I can get 10 sales people to refer 10 clients each to my boot camp a month I would get 100 new clients (10 X 10=100)

(More simple math) If I charge $197 auto debit per month for my boot camps, then I would increase my income by $19,700 a month in 30 days… and If I did it again the second month then I would increase my income a total of $39,400 a month in 60 days

WOW that’s $472,800 in a year!

And my outta pocket cost was only $25 dollars for the ad LOL.

Here’s the short version

You put an ad on Craigslist (costs $25 bucks) explaining that you will pay $50 per referral that sign up for your boot camp.

You also explain that you will give them powerful referral tools (plastic gift cards) that will make referring clients to your boot camps WAY EASY.

You set up times to interview the sales people (in grou ps) and give them instructions plus the referral tools.

I estimate that you will need about 20 sales people to hit your goal of 100 clients in a month.

Now for the long step-by-step version

The Magial Fitness Marketing Leadbox

Posted by on November 2, 2010 at 12:39 am

One of the most overlooked but powerful fitness marketing tools are "lead boxes"

These things work... Period.

But for some reason, they aren't talked about a whole lot.

It's weird that they aren't used more because they are pretty cheap to buy, and consistently generate leads month after month with virtually no cost to you.

So today I'm going to tell you three ways to get your lead boxes in local businesses so you can generate a steady stream of fitness prospects.

But first, check out my little equation.

And those are pretty modest numbers, the truth is that you can actually get MORE leads if you get your lead boxes in the right places.

You want to leave your lead boxes in high traffic places like:

How To “Automate” Your Fitness Business

Posted by on October 22, 2010 at 11:44 pm

Hey Steve here and I'm hangin out in Paris, France with my beautiful wife.

I was just thinking about back in the day when I was a "1-man show" personal trainer.

What sucked about going on a vacation back then was losing income while I wasn't working.

If I stopped, my income stopped. (I was even afraid to get hurt or sick because my income depended on ME working)

That was before I "automated" my business.

Automating your business allows you to DO WHAT YOU WANT, WHEN YOU WANT while continuously generating revenue

So here are 10 things you can do to automate your fitness business.

I call it, "Operation Automation!"

1. Hire a badass assistant

The first thing you need to do to automate your fitness business is hire an assistant.

This is CRITICAL trust me... Hire an assistant that can do all the day-to-day stuff so you can be freed up to do what you want and focus on high impact income generation activities.

Personally I have a kickass team of girls who totally rock at getting things done and making my life WAAAY easier.

2. Have other trainers working for you

Listen up because this will change your life...

When YOU train clients you own a "job"

However, when other trainers train your clients to generate you revenue, then you own a REAL business.

The #1 Way To Get Fitness Referrals

Posted by on October 16, 2010 at 1:59 am

By far the FASTEST way to get tidal waves of referrals is by RAISING YOUR ENERGY!

This is the #1 most underutilized fitness marketing strategy on the planet.

In fact 12 years ago when I built my first personal training business, I had 103 active clients all from referrals - Every single one on them.

So lately I've been getting a lot of emails asking both how to raise your energy, how get motivated and how to get more referrals.

Here is a video I did a while back with my top 7 tips for having more energy and to get more referrals.

If you've seen it before, it's worth it to watch it again, and if it's your first time, them scoot your chair a little closer and take some notes 🙂

How To Grow Your Fitness Business Using The A.P.E. Principle

Posted by on October 11, 2010 at 9:29 pm

Hey, Steve here and I hope you're week is of to an awesome start.

Check out the text that I just got from Fit Body Boot Camp owners Cara and John Eckerman.

You may remember them from my "Gun To The Head" post.

They were the Fit Body Boot Camp members who were about to quit, then after a pretty intense coaching call, flipped the switch and DOMINATED!

Well the fact that their Fit Body Boot Camp is pulling $18k a month (And rapidly growing) is cool, but...

The fact that they are doing it almost 100% by referrals is friggin amazing.

You see, Cara is literally building a "cult"-like following of fiercely loyal clients all because she is using my A.P.E. principle combined with MASSIVE ENERGY

Here is how my A.P.E. Principle works...

"A" for APPRECIATION! - The two most desired human emotions are the feeling of being appreciated and the feeling of being important.

Most people do NOT feel appreciated my their boss, their spouse or their kids.

This means, that you may be your clients ONLY source for the two most powerful human desires... Do you think this can get you better client retention and tons more referrals?
