The 10 Craigslist Marketing Commandments

Posted by on September 4, 2010 at 8:43 pm

Is Craigslist dead...Did I miss the funeral?

Hey, your biggest fan Steve here with a killer guest post from my private coaching client Jonathan Acosta from Get Sexy Boot Camps in San Antonio Texas.

You may remember Jonathan for being the dude who got 1255 NEW CLIENTS in one day from Groupon.com.

Well, he's also getting a ton of new clients from Craigslist.

And when you read his guest post, you'll understand why Craigslist is DEAD to some fitness professionals and kicking ass for others.

So without further ado, Here's Jonathan Acosta

In the beginning, Craig Newmark created Craigslist.........

In year 2009 Craigslist was pronounced DEAD!

The next year, on the 3rd day It rose again!

After that there was one person who was CHOSEN. The prophet Jen (my awesome girlfriend) was given 10 commandments to revive the way trainers advertise on craigslist.

Here are the scriptures of Jonathan:

( Ha ha that was pretty cool huh! Any way here are the 10 craigslist commandments)

1st Commandment -Have an attention getting subjectline

I know a subjectline is important as everyone already knows but, most trainers are doing it completely old school.

Heres an example:

Fitness Marketing On TV

Posted by on August 30, 2010 at 5:26 am

Hey Steve here and I hope ya had an AWESOME weekend.

It was my younger daughter Riley's 3rd birthday Saturday.

Man they grow fast, I'm really grateful that my business gives me the freedom to spend so much time with them (If you're a parent, then you know what I mean)

And to help YOU grow your business so you can have more freedom, I have a few pretty cool video for ya.

The videos have to do with getting MORE CLIENTS BY BEING ON TV.

Ya see, a lot of people talk about HOW to gt on TV, no one's talking about WHAT to do once you get on.

Le's face it, if you aren't asked back or don't capitalize on your television opportunity then you pretty much blew it.

You have to be interesting, relevant and entertaining.

And nobody knows more about this then my buddy Dustin "The Fitness Media Dominator" Maher.

When it comes to getting and STAYING on TV, this guy is on fire!

And the three videos below contain actual footage of Dustin making text book perfect appearances on the news.

Top 16 Things NOT To Do If You Want To Be A Fitness Celebrity

Posted by on August 27, 2010 at 1:37 am

Hey, Steve here with a super cool guest post from Dustin "The Fitness Media Dominator" Maher.

Dustin has a pretty amazing story going from living in a run down trainer park, to being on pace for nearly 7 figures with his boot camp business.

He owes a lot of his success to being a local fitness celebrity.

(I mean the guys been featured on television like 87 times)

So without further ado, here is Dustin and his top 16 things NOT do do if you EVER want to become a fitness celebrity.

Enjoy 🙂

Having built my fitness business up from 3k/month to close to 50k/month in less than 3 years without spending a dollar on advertising (well actually I did spend $125 on an add once in a local magazine), I feel like I have earned the right to speak on today's topic.

I don't know a more effective way to grow a fitness business and create a cult-like following better than being everywhere your potential clients look.

What I mean by that is when THEY are watching TV, I AM ON THE NEWS.

When they are reading the paper, I have a column or am on the front page.

When they are listening to the radio, I have my "ask the expert show" call in show.

When they open up a local magazine, I have a story written about me or from me.

Can you see how powerful that is?  Also think about your current clients, they see you all over too... Do you think they would ever want to train somewhere else?  Probably not.

In my upcoming Fitness Media Dominator coaching program I am going to coach you and guide you through the many steps it takes to get tons of FREE publicity through TV, and other media sources.

But if you DON'T want to get on the media endless amounts of times, follow these steps. 🙂

Fitness Marketing Fear Destroyer

Posted by on August 17, 2010 at 8:54 am

Why some fitness professionals let FEAR kill their income... And what YOU can do about it.

Hey - Steve here with something pretty important I want to talk about.

It has to do with the "fear" of fitness marketing and hiding behind your computer.

After mentoring hundres of fitness professionals, there is ONE REASON that 99% of trainers FAIL.

And that reason is:
Not intelligence
Not knowledge
Not experience
Not certifications
And Definitely NOT education

It's the one of the worst FOUR LETTER WORD in the english language...

FEAR.

That's right... Trainers all over the world a scared outta there minds about going into businesses, talking to strangers and even making phone calls.

So because it's outside their "comfort zone" they decide to hide behind their computers and post craigslist ads all day telling themselves that because they are "busy" doing "stuff" they are being PRODUCTIVE... NOT!

Well guess what amigos, that's not gonna cut it, (Not if you want to make $100,000 or more a year)

But the good news it that your old pal Steve is gonna show you how to CRUSH your fears by "reframing" them.

Dominating The Facebook Quick Ad

Posted by on August 12, 2010 at 4:38 pm

Hey Steve here with a super killer guest post with my good friend and Facebook fitness maketing wizzard Josh Carter.

Facebook is a power "spoke" that should be on your "marketing wheel"

In fact, if your not generating new clients on facebook then you're missing out big time.

Just today I was on the phone with my man Josh and he told me that he is getting about 10 leads a day off Facebook and he's only spending around $30 bucks a week to get them.

Anyways, I'll let Josh tell ya all about it...

Guest post by Joshua Carter:

the-hulk-superhero-400a062507

Hey Josh Carter here....

It can be intimidating. I know that.  My kids have figured out the real truth (and are apparently immune to my tactics) but with everyone else I can still use it to my advantage.

Like the servers at Baja Fresh, I give them a “Hulk” look and politely say  ”I said EXTRA chicken…”

Next thing you know, extra chicken.

I use it in bootcamp too:  “I said 15 reps..” ( even if I really said 10.)
Next thing you know, 15 reps.

Yeah, being intimidating can be cool.  But being intimidated can truly suck.  I will admit that it happened to my once and I didn’t care for it 🙂

It *really* sucks when people are intimidated by technology.  For instance I know grown, intelligent men and women who are afraid to even join Facebook because they think it is too complicated (let alone advertise on FB).
