10 Easy Steps To Keeping Your Clients Forever

Posted by on December 2, 2010 at 9:34 am

A couple weeks ago when I was teaching the Fit Body Boot Camp "Operation Domination" Mastermind, three of my old clients stopped by.

Each of them were active clients of mine for about 5 years, right up to the day I retired from training.

So I drilled them pretty hard to find out, in their experience, what my "magic formula" for long term client retention was.

Here's what we came up with.

1. Connect with your clients - I always made sure that I really "got" my clients.

I would find out what their "hot buttons" and core values were.

I would "dig" deep until I knew exactly what made them tic.

2. Bring the ENERGY - I would pretend a camera crew was filming me to make a documentary that would be seen by thousands of people all over the world.

So I had to be on my "A game" every second.

I also never got up to train my clients... I woke up in the morning to take another step towards achieving my life's dream.

Because of this, my clients would get the "ENERGY" of my dream and they would have a way better experience than if I woke up for them.

3. Shower your clients with appreciation - Maybe it was because I was never the "cool" kid or had a lot of friends.

Or maybe it was because in high school I lived out of a junker car.

Whatever the reason, I totally appreciated the fact that people would actually get up super early in the morning, and pay me to train them.

I always felt so grateful that in my early twenties I owned my own house, had two brand new cars, owned rental properties, had over $100,000 in my savings account, didn't have to answer to anyone, had a blast everyday while I was making over $50,ooo a month.

Not bad for a 20 year old kid that was homeless only a few years before that.

4. Call all your clients every Sunday - Every Sunday I would call EVERY singe one of my clients (NOT TEXT) them.

I'd give them a super awesome pump up message about how I couldn't wait to see them next week and how we were gonna have a huge breakthrough or how they were dead meat.

(Btw, even when I did group personal training I had over 100 clients and I would call every single one of them)

And to this day, the one thing they remembered most was how much they felt that I cared about them and that they looked forward to that Sunday "pump up" call.

They all say they miss that stuff the most.

5. Constantly increase your knowledge
- Now this doesn't mean you have to go to an official seminar or get another cert.

The “Seeing Is Believing” Experiment

Posted by on November 28, 2010 at 11:29 pm

Seeing Is Believing... And What
You Believe YOU Can Achieve!

Doctors and scientists said it was impossible for a human to run a mile in less than 4 minutes.

Our bone structure was wrong.
We had inadequate lung power.
Our heart could not take the strain.

24 year old Roger Bannister wasn't listening to that crap.

What happened on May 6, 1954 at Oxford University was viewed as simply another  attempt, in a history of foolish attempts, to achieve the impossible dream.

Yet at the end of the race the stop-watches held a different view.

Roger did achieve what was thought to be impossible as he blazed across the finish line in a time of 3 minutes 59 seconds.

But that was not the most amazing part...

46 days later the record was broken again by a different runner.

And by the end of 1957, 16 more runners had achieved the "impossible"

Why did this happen?

Runners did not suddenly get "better" in those few short years.

They SIMPLY BEGAN TO BELIEVE.

Top Trainer Success Secrets revealed: The “Mini-Hochmn” Paul Mort

Posted by on November 24, 2010 at 11:57 pm

I'm so proud of my private coaching client Paul Mort.

He's completely DOMINATING with his boot camps in the U.K. like a badass mofo!

In fact he has 10 boot camp locations in the U.K. and one in Sweden.

Not only that, he's also a private coaching client turned coach, helping dozens of U.K. fit pros blow it up.

The guy is a serious action taker and such a fun dude to coach (He did everything I said to a tee)

It's so friggin awesome to know that the same fitness marketing strategies and systems that I teach my U.S. private coaching clients also works in the U.K. (With some minor modifications)

Anyway, when you coach go-getters like Paul Mort, you get random emails like this (see below)

And that's why I asked him to reveal in his own words, what he's doing right now to totally kill it.

So without further ado, here's Paul Mort!

Hey everyone, it's Paul Mort here with what's working across the pond right now…

So thanks to Steve's private coaching I’ve got 10 bootcamp locations in the UK and one in Sweden and am currently helping a boatload of uk fitness pro’s smash it with there bootcamps as well.

For those that don’t know me, here in the UK I’m known as the bootcamp king.

Yes, sounds corny I know but, hey ho- I was given that name and it’s stuck.

So Steve asked me to put together a list of some of the REALLY SIMPLE stuff that he helped me implement that's causing me to kill it right now over here in the UK and in Sweden.

Top Trainer Secrets Revealed Part 6: The Full Monty Miller

Posted by on November 22, 2010 at 3:18 pm

*** Be sure to watch the videos below a "must see" ***

Hey Steve here with not one but TWO amazing "must see videos"

And here's why...

I flew from beautiful California to "The  middle of nowhere" in Wilmington North Carolina  to visit my coaching client Monty Miller because he's doing something pretty amazing.

He has a stand-alone boot camp facility in the middle of a field with some cows and he is easily pulling in $10,000 a month (And each month it's going up about $1000 a month)

And it's a good thing too because his wife Steph has a very expensive shoe habit.

Oh, and one more thing you should know...

Not only is Monty killing it with his boot camp facility amongst the cows in the field, but HE IS DOMINATING AND SMASHING EVERY BOOT CAMP in Wilmington.

Is it because he is one of my coolest coaching clients?

Is it because he is very handsome?

Is it because he has a very large "personality"?

Sure all of these are factors... But when you watch the video below, you will literally FEEL THE ENERGY of his boot camp.

It's insane.

It's addictive.

And his boot camp clients feel like they are part of a cult - like they have a "second home".

You'll know exactly what I mean when you watch the video below.

Wow!

Top Trainer Secrets Revealed Part 5 (Jaiya Figueras)

Posted by on November 19, 2010 at 7:44 pm

Hey Steve here with a guest post from one of my "unofficial" coaching clients form way back-in-the-day.

His name is Jaiya Figueras and he's one of my coolest, funniest and most talented trainers I've ever met.

We spent some wild, crazy and special times training clients in the trenches together back when I used to train.

So when he told me he wanted to do a guess post I was super pumped.

Ok, so without further ado, here's Jaiya!

Hey Jaiya here with the 5 most important things Steve Hochman taught me

There's a ton of stuff that I learned from Steve over the years.

Most if it was picked up in between jokes and fall on the ground "both hands flat on the ground" laughing at his fitness studio in Irvine, Ca.

You see I was one of the trainers that got to train clients side-by-side with Steve "in the trenches" in his fitness center back-in-the-day when he used to train clients.

(This was about 5 years 4 years ago when we met)

It was the perfect storm and the perfect time back in the day.

Now I had seen a ton of trainers sit down with Steve when they first got to the gym and nod their heads excitedly as if they were going to receive a magic anointing from the Gods.

Some quit on their potential but the special ones flourished (I've never seen so many 6-figure trainers under one roof in my life)

One of the things Steve told me when I first met him was to pretend like there was a camera on me all of the time and that’s what I always did.

When I first walked in his fitness studio and talked to him, I imagined that I was anointed by the Gods on some crazy movie where the struggling human being meets the oracle.

I felt like my life was about to change.

And it did.

You see it didn't really matter if I sat down there with Steve that day.

I will always be determined to live the life I dream of.

HOWEVER, WITHOUT STEVE, IT WOULD HAVE TAKEN ME 3 YEARS INSTEAD OF 3 MONTHS To Go From $2600 to $14,000 A Month

I went from each month barely making $2600 to $10 to $14,000 in about 3 months.

No sh*t.
